Spring Season Comes to an End

5/30/2012

Congratulations on a successful spring season. We finished our season 7-2-1. At the beginning of the season we were playing well but not as a team. As the season progressed we began to find our individual places on the team and were able to gel. As this season has come to an end let us look toward the fall season and remember the lessons we have learned from the past. My goal for this up coming season is to improve our place at Nationals. This is a tall order but with a lot of hard work and dedication; I believe this is within our reach.
Phil 3:14
I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
(from New International Version)

Practice with Moussa

5/11/2012

We have been blessed to have a visiting international player/coach Moussa Camara working with us this last week. I hope his passion for the game will inspire us to play to our potential. I know it has inspired me to push harder for excellence. It is interesting how God orchestrates things for our benefit.

Thursday, May 3rd Devotion

5/4/2012

Galatians 5:14-15    The entire law is summed up in a single command: "Love your neighbor as yourself". If you keep on biting and devouring each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.    How many times have we played a game and the other team would start yelling at one another; they would fall apart from within. We are blessed to have a team that cares for and encourages each other but we need to be on guard that we don't allow any strife or division among us. It is easy to get frustrated when things don't go our way but it takes work to turn frustration into gratification. We all must work hard to maintain unity at all levels.

Successful soccer clinic

5/3/2012

On March 30th we held our first soccer skills clinic. It was an action packed day with 20 kids in attendance starting at 9:00 am and ending at 6:00 pm. We started off the day with a training video and later we worked on 30 different skills. At this clinic we introduced a training guide to help with their off season conditioning. If you were not at the clinic and didn't receive the guide look under documents to download your copy. This is very important to your training and your ability to compete at the level we need to for the fall season.
